| About us |
| First Light is a small non-profit organization with wide-spread ideals. The idea for bringing prosperity to the Santal tribe (also called the Adivasi) came in the mind of Bishnu Palchaudhuri a couple of years ago. At that time he was working as a director for films and documentaries. He started First Light and made all the preparations to make it a well-functioning and efficient NGO. His ideas spread over to other people who were enthusiastic to join the First Light. Soon Bishnu was surrounded by many people who want to put effort in making the project a huge success. These people include local people who communicate with the Santal community and volunteers from all around the world. |
| Bhuda Bhuda is the local representative. He manages the communication with the Santal tribe and the practical aspects of the project. |
| Sanat Sanat is the head of the Santal community and takes care of the financial administration. |
| Bishnu Bishnu is the secretary of First Light. He started the project a few years ago. |
| Hanne Hanne joined First Light as a volunteer in March 2007. She teaches the children the English language. |
