Hello...
I arrived 3days ago from France, on the 2nd of August 2008. Bishnu's driver was waiting for me at
the airport and we went after that to Bishnu's appartment. His wife cooked us a good meal and I
spent a nice night in Kolkata. The day after, we took the train at 4pm to Santiniketan and we arrived
there at 6pm. It's a very nice city, very calm and with plants and trees everywhere!
On Monday morning, Bishnu took me for a ride around the city to visit a little bit and during the
afternoon, we went to school to meet the kids. They're very cute and I taught 2 of the 3groups.
Indeed, the rain came before I could teach the most advanced group, the blue one. They were
disappointed but tomorrow, I'll see them again so it's ok.
It was a nice and busy day!
8th of August.
On wednesday, I went with Bishnu to see an NGO where they are making handmade things. It was
very nice.
On thursday, I biked for the 1st time to go to the internet cafe and it was great to visit the city a
little bit. It had been raining a lot for 1h but after that we went to school with Bishnu and at the end,
I visited the village with Suma.
Today was a busy day at school because lots of kids were there and they were very motivated! They
really love to sing in English with you!
Tomorrow, I will go to Bishnupur by bus: its gonna be fun as well!
24th of August.
Today is my last day. I'm leaving tomorrow to Kolkata to take my flight home.
Last Thursday was the last day at school and it sounds weird not to see the children again: I'll miss
them! I went to the village for the last time, talking and smiling to people. Actually the day was
pretty busy because, while she was playing, a little girl got attacked by a snake. She was very
scared but all right and Khela killed the animal in front of all the children! Pretty amazing!
For the last 3days we've been to an other village to start a new school: children from the other will
come to this one as well. It has been a good experience to try to teach them English because they
know almost nothing! A new adventure will start again!
